Recovery Routine
Recovery Routine
A lot of athletes ask about recovery days. What should you do? I think the biggest key is don’t do nothing. You should try to be active on your rest days. Go out and do something fun or something active but when it comes down to having your body rest that is your number 1 priority. You should stretch for at least 30 minutes twice a day on a rest day. Once when you wake up and then once before you go to bed. If you have a lot of lactic acid build up I would suggest using a foam roller or one of those massage guns. The best things that worked for me was always stretching, foam rolling and an ice bath. Those were what I saw the most benefit from. Hydration is another key point on rest days. You should drink at least a gallon of water and be frequently using the restroom. That keeps your hydration at the same level so when you get to your workouts the next day you have a high energy level.
