Pre Workout Ingredients Made Simple

Everyone reads the back of the label when it comes to supplements but do you actually know what to look for? Today we will be discussing 3 of the main ingredients in a pre workout that you need to look for and what they can do for you. It’s not just about getting an energy rush it is about performance. The first ingredient you need to look for is Beta Alanine. What does beta Alanine do? Beta Alanine is used in pre workout to increase endurance. It helps your body produce a natural chemical called carnosine which allows you to perform in high stress situations for long periods of time. If you take too much of this or are not used to it you will get that pins and needles feeling in your face. If you take anywhere from 2.5-3G that is the recommended dose. Anything over that and you can be over stimulated which negatively effects pumps. The second ingredient you want to look for is L-Citrulline. What L-Citrulline does is that it promotes nitric oxide in the body. What nitric oxide does is open up your blood vessels so more blood can flow, which leads to better pumps. This can help with gaining muscle mass and feel like you are getting much more out of your workouts. You should be looking for 6G of this. Anything less and you won’t get as much out of the workouts. And lastly Creatine is a common pre workout ingredient. What Creatine does is that it pulls the water from your body to your muscles and increases your muscle hydration. So, this leads to you feeling stronger and being able to have strength throughout long periods of time. This is why it’s important to drink plenty of water when consuming creatine. Now a lot of brands will have only 2G of creatine in their product. This will not make a single difference. You need to consume at least 5G of creatine to feel strength gains.
