Nightly Recovery Routine For Athletes
Athletes need to start taking their recovery more serious! Having a nightly routine for your recovery is essential for your muscles to develop and for you to make the proper gains. Recovery is important because you want your muscles to feel fresh so everytime you hit the field or the gym you can give your 100% performance and get better. Simple as that. If you are trying to gain weight you must take your recovery seriously because if your muscles are constantly breaking down you will not give them time to heal. Something you can do every night is stretch, hydrate and some kind of ice therapy. Me personally I would take a cold shower or an ice bath, this helps your body reduce inflammation. The ice bath is obviously better but that’s not realistic for a lot of people every night. I would stretch for 30 minutes to an hour and then I would make sure I drank a gallon of water everyday. This would allow me and some of the athletes I train who do this to be fresh everyday for the workouts necessary.
