Do You Need Protein Powder?

Protein is one of the foundational substances for muscle gain and recovery. Protein can be found in food but if you weigh a decent amount and/or do not have time to constantly meal prep/ map out everything you eat/ eat 6 times per day, protein powder is a great source to get the protein you need to build muscle. Science states that you need .8-1G of protein per pound of body weight to gain muscle consistently. So if you weigh over 160lbs this is a pretty challenging task. Having a protein shake after you workout is a great way to repair the micro tears in your muscle tissues so you can increase your muscle mass/size. Protein helps your muscles recover much faster.  If you consume 30G of protein for 3 meals and supplement 2 protein shakes in between you will be at 150G of protein on the day. Then you can add 2 snacks to get you up to 160 if that’s how much you weigh. This is not challenging to do. But you need the protein powder to aid in this process. If you don’t have the time to map our your meals, protein powder is especially something you would need. It’s a great on the go way to get the necessary protein your body needs to perform.
