These three exercises are what I believe all athletes should incorporate into their routines. And these are not just your basic sit ups and crunches, those you should already be doing. The first thing I want to talk about is the Ab wheel. If you guys haven’t seen one of these or done it I highly suggest doing it and for those who have done the Ab wheel there is probably nothing more beneficial for your core. It helps you stretch out your core muscles so they remain tight even when you are standing in a vertical posture. The second best exercise in my eyes is Russian twists but weighted twists. This helps your functional rotational strength but also helps the side walls and obliques get stronger. I believe every athlete no matter the sport has to rotate eventually and this will help. Lastly I believe knee tucks while holding the bar are great. So you hold a pull up bar where your feet are completely off the ground and your body is at full extension. Lift your knees almost to your chest and squeeze your abs then control your legs back down. This is a more advanced version of a crunch and also helps your abs remain tight in a vertical posture position. If you do these three exercises you will 100% get a more developed 6 pack and your core will get stronger.
