3 Tips To Be More Explosive
- You can be a more explosive athlete by doing the following 3 things. First things first you need to be lifting properly. Don’t be doing high rep sets. Do lower rep sets on exercises like squats, power cleans etc. because that works your fast twitch muscle fibers. Doing high rep exercises work your slow twitch fibers which are most commonly found in distance runners. We don’t want to be distance runners if you are trying to be explosive. Those fast twitch fibers help you with explosiveness.
- Do Plyometrics! If you’re an athlete and don’t do some kind of jump training you are not performing the correct exercises. You should be doing box jumps, broad jumps, one leg jumps etc. This will help you tremendously in the development of your fast twitch muscle fibers.
- Resistance training. If you can get some work in with a resistance band or on a hill or even in sand, you will see your explosiveness improve. Try doing certain exercises with a weighted vest, footwork drills with a resistance band and run sprints up hills. Those are great things to develop your explosion.
