  1. The number one lift in my opinion is squats. That will help your power production, speed, explosiveness and help to put weight on your legs. This is a foundational exercise for football players. If you’re  a QB it helps with your base, if you're any other position it will help you with speed, balance, and the ability to come off the snap fast
  1. Power Cleans. This is the key to getting any kind of drive from your hips. When it comes to blocking or making a cut All of the force you generate comes from your hips. This is a great way to develop that!
  1. And last but not least, push jerk. I’m not a big fan of bench press because you will never be on your back during a game. It’s just a show off exercise. Push jerk is a great way to work on your upper body explosion and overall power production.
